Third Day #26-03-2014
Subject : Day 4 in our volunteering project

Today was our last day at the abilities exhibition, as usual I went to the Emirates Autism Society stand to follow up with our volunteering work. But the new things that today i got alot of benefits from helping many of the disabilities with thier drawing after setting with them and asking them if they have any ideas that they want to present in the paper so they were happy. While they were painting I asked them about thier abilities and what they are able to do other than drawing ? , they surprised me when they told me that they are men sales and they are planting plants in the arboretum, I asked them :
where are you working?
They Answered: in the desert group .
me asked: whats your name?
Everyone answered with their names (Abdulla , Salah , Hareb , jafar)
After that I tried to help them with thier drawing. Hareb was asking me for ideas, so I told him you have to think about it because you are smart enough to come up with nice ideas, then he told me that he wanted to draw a luxes car logo so I tried to help him step by step to do that. First I got lexus logo for him from the Internet, then I draw a circle on my paper and asked him to do the same thing. After that I draw for him disconnected dots and he started to follow up. I gave him colour to paint the logo and luxes letters. At the same time I was following salah and Abdullah, Abdullah draw two cars with cloud and sun, salah draw UAE flag with flowers and grasses . After that i took their drawings pictures and I pasted them on the wall and I thanked them. I went to their stand to interview their manager Ms.Reem Saeed Algaith and I also interviewed Jafar one of the disabilities who work with them. Later on the rest of the desert group decided to join us at our stand to draw like their colleagues, I took them to our stand and at the end of the day I got 12 drawings which was really amazing. I felt that I achieved something and their manger . Ms Reem Al Gaith was surprised, because she didn't know that they love to draw as well as the plantings. In addition some of them were talented in sports and they participated in the olympics games like the swimmer Abdulla Mubarak. At the end of the day I got my volunteering certificate from Zayed higher organisation as I completed 16 hours of vlounteering work and beside that I got an amazing experience which really lead me to discover myself in dealing with this category. I wish that I achieved something today to help those people whose part of this community to deliver thier massage to the people out there in the society, that they have abilities more than what the others thought about them and I was so happy to draw the smile on their faces by chatting with them , give them the passion and encourage them in a short time.
